Medical Support

Health Insurance

If a parent who owes support is ordered to provide health insurance for a child and it is available through their employer, the Child Support Program may be able to send a National Medical Support notice to the employer to enroll the child in the parent's health insurance.

Medical Expenses Not Covered by Insurance

Medical expenses not covered by insurance include payments made out-of-pocket by a parent for medical, dental, vision or prescription drug services. If the support order states the parent who owes support must pay all or part of the child's medical expenses not covered by insurance, the parent who owes support may be required to repay some of those expenses.
