You have 20 days from the date of the notice to:
- Pay the past-due amount in full and stay current with payments;
- Sign a written agreement by contacting the child support program by phone, web chat or email;
- Comply with the subpoena or order to appear for genetic testing;
- Provide documentation that you:
- Receive unemployment compensation;
- Are disabled and have no income;
- Receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income);
- Receive Social Security Disability benefits;
- Receive TANF (temporary cash assistance);
- Are paying support under a confirmed bankruptcy plan; or
- Contest the action by filing a petition in circuit court;
If after 20 days you don't take one of the above actions, the Child Support Program will notify Department of Highway Safety Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) to suspend your license.
